Hey, everybody!
I hope you’re all having a great summer! Mine is hot and busy, but I’m having so much fun answering everybody’s “Dear Ally” writing questions! They’re so good, and ya’ll are so smart!
In fact, I hope to be wrapping up the first draft of that really soon, because I’m getting ready to hit the road.
First, I’M GOING TO FLORIDA!
If you’re in the Orlando area, then I highly recommend you check out the Romance Writers of America “Readers for Life” Literacy Autographing. It will be SATURDAY, JULY 29th from 3:00-5:00 p.m at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort.
Unfortunately, you’re not allowed to bring books from home, but admission is free, and 100% of the proceeds from book sales will go to charity. It’s a great program, and I am proud to be one of SEVERAL HUNDRED authors who will be taking part!
If you’re a librarian, then you may want to come a little early and check out LIBRARIAN’S DAY!
It’s always a great program, and I’m thrilled to be taking part alongside Simone Elkeles and Jennifer Armentrout.
I’m so excited! And I hope y’all will come check it out. If you do, come say hi! Even if you don’t want to buy my books again (I TOTALLY understand!) you can still get a picture and say hi.
Then, when I leave Orlando I’ll be heading north for a family vacation. We’re going to Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone and all that awesome stuff. I can’t wait!
Again, hope everyone is having a great summer!
-Ally
Hello Ally,
My name is Diane. I am 18 years old and i just graduated high school (college here I come!). Well, during this summer I was looking through my books and immediately knew that i had to reread your Gallagher Girls “series”. I put the word series in between quotation marks because for the whole duration in which i have had these books (5 years or so?) I thought there were only THREE books in the whole series. I had just finished rereading “Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy” at approximately 2am and randomly decided to look up the book on google. There I was, in the abyss we all call the internet, when all of a sudden I felt nothing short of a heart attack. “There are SIX books?!” I whispered rather aggressively (luckily my frustration didn’t wake any members of my household up, except for my cat who frantically jumped off of my bed). “What am I going to do?!” “How is this possible?!” ” Who even lead me to believe there were only three books?!”. These questions buzzed in my head until I was finally able to go to bed.
Rise and shine! (I’m not sure if that saying applies when I woke up around 1pm that day). I headed straight to my laptop in search of buying the last three books in the series so that I could read the WHOLE series this summer. You may think I’m crazy, I call it being a neat freak, but I only searched for the last three books to be both paperback and with the original cover (a much harder task than presented). I tore through amazon, zoomed through eBay, and lurked the internet pages of Barnes & Nobles… no luck. I then called my local book shop and asked for them. She told me that she found the books, but that the covers were the new 10th anniversary editions. Alas, I succumbed to the fact that I wasn’t going to be able to obtain the last three books with original covers AND that were paperback. I went ahead and ordered the last books because essentially I’m just looking forward to reading the actual stories after thinking there were only THREE (for what seems like forever)!
Long story short, I was wondering if it would be possible for you to send me the last three books (original cover and paperback). I want all six books to match (clean freak much? the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree). I was hoping to one day pass these books onto my future daughter, and I would like for all of the books to look the same. I know this may be a lot to ask for but I just thought that it was worth a shot.
Thank you for your consideration,
Diane
If you can’t find them anywhere else, you should check the Abebooks website, they should have several paperback copies of the books.
Hey Ally, are you ever considering of coming on a book signing tour in Canada?
Hi I was wondering if you are considering doing a book signing in California any time soon?
