5 Really Random Observations

June 12, 2014 by Ally Carter 17 Comments

hi everyone!

How’s it going? Me? I’m working on Embassy Row 2. Which is really weird since no one (besides a few friends/family members and my publisher has read Embassy Row 1.)

I know I promised you guys I’d blog more often, but I’m having a hard time coming up with anything to say. Because my head is filled with things I can’t say! Because it would totally spoil Embassy Row for you.

So I’m just going to offer you five super random observations instead.

1. It’s summer time! And the mosquitoes have taken over my backyard, and I must be DELICIOUS. I mean, like they tell the little baby mosquitoes that if they’re good they can have me after dinner. Like ice cream. I am mosquito ice cream. And I’m fairly sick of it.

2. I’m starting to get really excited about all the cool things that are going to start happening this fall in the lead up to Embassy Row. Like, for example, we will announce the OFFICIAL title (Embassy Row is just the series title. The actual book has a separate title all its own.)

Stay tuned here and to my other social media outlets for information. There may just be an Advanced Reading Copy of the book in it for you!

3. I am so freaking excited that The Fault in Our Stars was #1 at the box office last weekend. That was great for John Green and fans of that book, but it’s also great for anyone who would like to see more teen movies–especially movies based on novels–come to the big screen.

4. I have zero interest in the World Cup.

5. My oven broke over a year ago. A YEAR! Now, I know what you’re thinking: But Ally! You love to bake! And I do, I really do. But my sister got me this awesome little toaster oven for Christmas a year or two ago and I have been doing all of my baking with it. It’s amazing! Really, baked potatoes and pies and anything you can do in a smaller dish come out just perfectly in it.

But I am starting to miss being able to do bigger things. Like anything on a cookie sheet or making three loaves of banana bread at once.

So maybe I’ll go get a new oven… Or maybe not.

If I go outside, after all, the mosquitoes will eat me. Because I AM their banana bread…

See, folks? I told you this was gonna be random.

I don’t care about the World Cup either!!!!!!!! Yay! I am sorry your oven broke! That’s sucky….:( Really sucky. And mosquitoes!!! I hate those little dudes. But I am soooooooo excited for Embassy Row! I have to ask though. Is it hard to have all your readers so excited, like too much pressure or is it fun…. Just wondering.

Yay! Someone who gets me. At night I spend some time outside in the night air and I get like five mosquitoe bites and my sister only gets one. The next day I itch like crazy. Curse my sweet smelling blodd. I can’t wait to read the Embassy Row series? When is it coming out? And are you going to start on another Heist Society book?

Yes I’m VERY excited to read the Embassy Row series and good luck on the second one but I’m dying to know, is there gonna be more Heist Society books in that series and if there is do you have any idea when you’ll be able to find the time or ideas or whatever to write them? Also I know about the mosquitoes because I was outside for like 3 hours today and I’m sunburnt and have like a million mosquito bites… like literally. And can I just say thanks so much for being like the BEST AUTHOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again can’t wait for the Embassy Row series!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially if it’s as good as your others!!!:)

Ha, I personally love random things so this post was great πŸ™‚ Wow, I’m so excited for Embassy Row! Hopefully you’ll have another book signing I can go to like for the last Gallagher Girls book (still can’t believe that’s over). Hopefully once the next Embassy Row book is done we’ll get #4 for Heist Society! I miss Kat and co.

You can try to make microwave cakes. My friends say they are even better than oven cakes!

I don’t really get bitten by mosquitoes, my friend does and has a jokey go a me every year.

I can’t wait for Embassy Row, but will you be writing any more Heist Society books? Because I miss them too. πŸ˜€

I haven’t read TFiOS yet but another one of my friends watched it on Thursday and said it was really good.

I don’t care much about the World Cup either, I’ve seen parts so far but not lots.

That’s annoying about your oven. I hope you get a new one soon! πŸ™‚

Today I just got done reading the Gallagher Girl series again for the fourth time and every time I read it, it never ceases to amaze me! There’s always some great I don’t know, scene, or something that I don’t remember and I always live in the books that you write. Tomorrow I’m gonna start reading the Heist Society series again for the third time. I seriously have a lot of time for reading on the weekdays since summer vacation started. Haha. If I’m gonna be reading this summer, you better believe that I’m gonna be reading Ally Carter!!!
