February 24, 2014 by Shellie 190 Comments

Hi All!

If you follow Ally on Twitter you saw that we got the new Korean edition of Heist Society last week! If not here is what it looks like….

How Super Awesome is that ?!?!?!??!

Well this got me thinking that we should have a Foreign Edition Giveaway!

Just comment what foreign language you are learning in school or would like to learn someday. The winner will receive an Ally Carter book in that language if available. If that language is not available you will receive another edition as close to that language as possible.

I will pick a winner randomly in 48 hours. US residence only. Please only comment one time!

WE HAVE A WINNER:

I, personally, really want to learn Italian &/or Russian. Really badly! Unfortunately, I was not gifted with GallagherGirl-level language learning abilities. I’m horrible at even learning Spanish /headdesk

I just finished 4 years of Spanish, but I would love to learn German because I used to live there or Italian because that is what I am.

I am currently learning French in school! It would be fantastic to have one of your books in a language that I’m very interested in. However, an Italian edition would be cool too because I’m currently re-learning it since I’ve forgotten some of it since moving to California when I was 7.

I am currently learning Urdu, which is not a very common language. So, in school I am learning Spanish. If I get picked, Spanish would be much easier to privy than Urdu.
    Thanks!

Hey, Shellie, I think this is fabulous because I’m actually teaching myself Korean right now! But in school I’m taking Biblical Hebrew because I’ve already taken Ancient Greek and would love to read the Bible in its original languages (Old Testament- Hebrew; New Testament- Greek). Biblical Hebrew is actually working out well! I was afraid, at first, because I tried learning Modern Hebrew and was not very good at it (what prompted me to take Greek, actually, now that I think about it), but I’m doing much better the second time around!

Other languages I plan on studying in the future is Spanish (I can read and write in Spanish pretty well but am deathly afraid of speaking it, so I want to study more and gain confidence). I tried Hieroglyphs and that was okay but I really need to go back and review. Latin is something I’d love to learn as well as French. And though this is well into the future for me because I really want to become fluent with Korean, I want to learn either Cantonese or Mandarin (or both! I’m down) as well as Thai (it’s so beautiful. One day). Needless to say, I love languages. This is such a great opportunity so congrats, in advance, to whoever wins!

Although one day, if i have time, i want to learn french, my friends say that when i speak spanish I sound french, so i guess I am meant to speak fench one day. 🙂
