Magnificent Foreign Monday

February 24, 2014 by Shellie 190 Comments

Hi All!

If you follow Ally on Twitter you saw that we got the new Korean edition of Heist Society last week! If not here is what it looks like….

korean heist

How Super Awesome is that ?!?!?!??!

Well this got me thinking that we should have a Foreign Edition Giveaway!

Just comment what foreign language you are learning in school or would like to learn someday. The winner will receive an Ally Carter book in that language if available. If that language is not available you will receive another edition as close to that language as possible.

I will pick a winner randomly in 48 hours. US residence only. Please only comment one time!

WE HAVE A WINNER:

Hope your having a nice day,

I’m actually trying to learn Korean because my mom and grandparents are from South Korea 🙂 I think it would be cool to read it with my grandparents because they can’t speak much English 🙂

I will be starting my first year of Spanish in my 10th grade year, I’m going into 9th grade next year, a few of my BFFS are taking Spanish 1 this year ( I was put in it but chose my orchestra class over it b/c I love my violin). They met a girl who frequently comes in there class with an aid b/c she speaks mainly Spanish( and when I say mainly I mean she only speaks/understands a few words of English). Her name is Effi and she is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met even though she can’t really understand me( two of my BFFS in Spanish 1 help us translate when they can).Effi sits with us at lunch and we frequently discuss Ally Carter and her amazing books( some of my friends and I even have characters from the books as our nicknames to match with our personalities I’m Bex), it really stinks b/c Effi is always left out due to her inability to read your books in English. My friends and I would love some information on getting Effi these books in Spanish so she can join in on the fun. I would LOVE to win this book for her and give it to her for her bday or even just as a surprise just b/c gift! – a HUGE fan of GG and HS

How cool would it be to have a book (especially Ally Carter…especially Heist Society) in the language you’re studying in school? Pretty awesome (just sayin’)!

I am currently enriching myself in the exquisite language an culture of español. I hope that this book will soon come in Spanish, not just for me but also for my comrade, Effi, who recently emigrated from Mexico and only speaks Spanish. I wish to immerse her in the powers of American Literature.

Lingua latinum didici. (I learn the language of Latin.) I take Latin in school, but I realize that there most likely won’t be a Latin edition of such a modern book. However, I did take Chinese for three years and I think it’s a pretty cool language as well.

I would like to learn sign at one point in my life, I don’t think braille would be an option. Spanish would be very beneficial because of the many Spanish speaking people in America. (But I wouldn’t mind a copy in one of the interesting countries’ languages that Kat and Hale go to.) The Korean copy does look cool, I am very interested in art just like Kat and Hale.

I’m learning French in school and I love it because I think it’s a beautiful language. Well, that and I want to be a choir director when I’m an adult, and there are so many beautiful French choral songs. If I had to pick a language that I want to learn, it would probably be either Latin or Ancient Greek because of Rick Riordan’s books. Have I rambled enough yet? Yeah, probably.
