Magnificent United We Spy Mission Monday

September 16, 2013 by Shellie 363 Comments

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a super hard mission but there is a super awesome reward on the line!

First Part of your mission is to solve the phrase below:

ZEJCA ZEA AEJBWYD CAPWJ SANZAJ IQOOAJ YQWJZK OA KHREZW PNA CEKNJE ZE OYQKHW, OQNRERNA W QJA WPPWMQA PANNKNEOPA, REOEPWXK EJ HKYK ZQ XHA PKNPQNANP, W ZWPNUO U ZENCAHSYD ZKIEJANAZA DAHA ZEP HER

First you will need to do a Caesar Cipher and shift the letters to the right 4 spaces.

Second you will have to translate to English. I used 9 languages this time. (Words are grouped together in phrases so they will translate more easily)

Third you should have a 35 English word count as your final answer.

Second Part of your mission is to list 3 of the 6 things that Cammie is talking about in the phrase.

And the prize for this mission is….. a signed copy of United We Spy and a Blackthorne long sleeve t-shirt!!!

Standard rules apply: I will hold all comments for 48 hours, winner will be chosen randomly from correct responses, only US residence can win but please feel free to comment and just state commenting for fun! Please only post your answer one time.

Also, I will allow comments that are tips or encouragement for each other! I know all the Gallagher Girls work better as a team!

Good Luck,

Shellie

P.S. Catch Ally on her LAST GG Tour  starting THIS WEEK!!!!

    The answer is . . .

Things things that simply must be done when you miss three days of school, survive a terrorist attack, visit the place you were tortured, and solve the mystery that had pretty much dominated your entire life.

The list of these things includes: homework, laundry, and paperwork.

I had a ton of fun figuring this out, since I didn’t use any translation things. I recognized the french, a friend recognized a couple other phrases, and some i guessed at. Then I just searched through the book for something that matched.

I hope you keep doing these contests, Ally. They keep me on my toes 🙂 SO excited to read United We Spy!

-laundry. sure, it’s not the most exciting part of post-op life, but it is a part of it nonetheless.
-homework. it is either a great advantage or disadvantage to have Elizabeth Sutton in charge of collecting class notes and assignments while you’re gone. really, it’s a toss-up
-paperwork. because even unauthorized missions have a lot of people who have to be kept in the loop. eventually.
-answer the well-meaning but slightly nosy questions of well-meaning but slightly nosy classmates (delegated to Rebecca Baxter).
-figure out how to make it look like you haven’t spent the past few days crying (or trying not to cry) (delegated to Macy McHenry).
-do your best to get on with your life

from the book Out of Sight Out of Time written by Ally Carter

The quote is, “Things that simply must be done when you miss three days of school, survive a terrorist attack, visit the place you were tortured, and solve the mystery that had pretty much dominated your entire life”
And the three things are: “Homework. It is either a great advantage OR disadvantage to have Elizabeth Sutton in charge of collecting class notes and assignments while you’re gone. Really, it’s a toss-up. Paperwork. Because even unauthorized missions have A LOT of people who have to be kept in the loop. Eventually. Answer the well-meaning but slightly nosy questions of well-meaning but slightly nosy classmates (delegated to Rebecca Baxter).” It’s from the beginning of chapter 32 of OSOT, page 221-222. These missions are really fun!

I love this quote in the book. It’s on pages 221-222 of Out of Sight, Out of Time

First, Translation: Things that simply must be done when you miss three days of school, survive a terrorist attack, visit the place you were tortured, and solve the mystery that had pretty much dominated your entire life (a list by Cammie Morgan)

    Second: Laundry, homework, paperwork

Quotes like this certainly set Ally’s writing style above all the other YA authors.

I have just finished United We Spy and I am crying! It is AMAZING!!!!! and I am not one to use this word lightly. It’s more rare than Zach calling Cammie by her name instead of Gallagher Girl. That rare!

    1) Cammie solved the mystery of what happened to her dad

2)she visited the site to where she was tortured

3)survived the attack from the Circle of Cavan / Zach’s mom

    1. HOMEWORK, and really, who doesn’t need to do homework?

    2. LAUNDRY, (not the most exciting part, but hey…)

    3. PAPERWORK, because being a spy isn’t all glamor and excitement…

Not to sound picky. But isn’t that encryption backwards? Unless I was working it out wrong. When you’re encrypting something it says that you’re meant to start with the ‘plain’ (the alphabet as normal) and use the corresponding letters in the Cipher alphabet to create the encrypted text. Is that right? Because when I was trying to do it I got completely the wrong answers then I realised that to go backwards you have to find the letter in the ciphered line to the corresponding plain letter? I’m just a tad confused at the moment. I know it doesn’t really mean anything because the competition is now closed. But I was just wondering.

No, you have to work it backwards because you are decrypting the text not encrypting the text which is what I did.

      Hope that helps!

That’s what I mean to encrypt you have to look at plain and then corresponding cipher. To decrypt you have to work backwards so look at the cipher then the plain but when I did that I got. VAFYW ? :/
