Hey Everyone!
I had such a good time reading all of your responses from last weeks questionnaire! I really enjoyed getting to know all of you more. I think I will just have to come up with another fun one next month.
Today I decided I needed to give something away!
We got these really cool Double Crossed promotional pamphlets at the Ally Carter Headquarters last week. So, I had Ally sign one and I am going to give it away 48 hours from now (that’s Wednesday at 7a.m. central time).
Here’s what you need to do: Just post a comment about what you loved about the Double Crossed novella! I will pick a random winner from the comments and mail them this cool signed promo! Continental U.S. residents only. (Sorry to all our foreign fans!)

I think my fav part was when Abby offered Kat info about the gallagher academy… can’t wait to see what ally dose next!!!
My favorite part…oh where should I start? One part I loved was how Ally brought the two different worlds together, through a party that involved both Macey and Hale’s parents. I liked how this brought them together because that could actually happen. Their parents are wealthy and influential so it would make sense that they’d travel in the same circle of people. I loved how Macey and Aunt Abby were involved with Hale and Kat. Most people would have been expecting a crossover between Cammie and Kat, the two main characters, but I loved how the more secondary characters had a chance in the spotlight and how we got to know them a little bit better. I loved the plot and storyline of the novella. Most of all, I loved how Ally needed certain aspects from both worlds to capture the bad guys and save the day. Both the thief and the spy were needed with their unique techniques. They complement each other in the best ways. I also enjoyed the witty banter between Macey and Hale. I don’t ever think Ally can top her latest book, but then she amazes by doing it with the next. Thanks Ally for these amazing series and Shelly for these awesome Mondays!
That novella was amazing. I loved seeing how the two worlds collided and got along surprisingly well. I haven’t read the GG series in a while, so it felt good to interact with them again. I also loved seeing the skills of thieves and spies side by side so we could easily see the similarities and differences between them. Plus it felt like the “official” announcement of the Hale/Kat couple (remembering that this occurred before Perfect Scoundrels) which made me very happy!
Overall it made me very happy and I hope Ally can write more mash-ups!!
I loved that she crossed over both books! I was actually waiting for that book since Heist Society was announced (My mom had gotten quite the earful of how she needed to make a book with characters from both books in it). I thought the characters would go perfectly with each other.
my favorite part of double crossed was when Abby showed up at the crime scene , I loved the describtion of everything it was really believable!!! I really liked how her and kat could relate , how she handled the situation. I was really excited how it was left with her giving kat a card to the Gallagher academy. Hopefully that ties into something else!!!
EVERYTHING!
Haha. Well… If I had to narrow it down:
I totally really liked the idea of crossing the two series.
Two AWESOME series. It was really great. Really!
I think one of my many favorite parts of the novella was: “I understand that there are perhaps a half dozen safecrackers in the world who could break that particular model.” Abby smiled a little, let her gaze drift to Kat. “I suppose one of them must have been here tonight.” I thought that was cool (AWESOME).
I love how seamlessly both worlds are combined 🙂
I loved the book but I like reading books from Cammie’s point of view the best. (Even when she is half unconscious.)
I think I liked the fact that it wasn’t all about the main characters in the separate series. Often the side characters are forgotten and I think Hale and Macey are worth remembering. They are both characters that are so real, I guess that is the best way to describe it. The appearance of Abby was an added bonus. I could go on for days but ill leave it with this quote; ‘I’m not a normal [girl]’
I really enjoyed Double Crossed and the thing I loved about it the most would probably have to be seeing two of my favorite fictional worlds coming together. It was nice to see that Heist and GG might be happening at the same time, so thank you Ally!
I love the way Hale doesn’t flirt with Macey. He stays loyal to Kat!!!
What I love about Double Crossed is that we get a different perspective on how other people view the Gallagher Girls. From Hale’s point of view we see how Macey is different from all the other rich kids. As readers, we already know that she’s different but it’s really different to see how Hale reacts to it. And it’s also interesting to see how Macey sees Hale as someone different from the crowd. Ally really brings these two worlds together in a really different way and that’s what I absolutely love about this novella.
I love how Hale was doubting Macey could do anything and how she was just nothing and then she shows him. I really like that part 🙂 I like the whole book 🙂
Amy
I love that part!!!!
What I love about Double-Crossed is seeing characters from the Gallagher Girl series interacting with Heist Society characters. Macey and Hale using their skills and working together to figure out the thieves plan was so thrilling. I really liked that they were the main focus and we got to see them use their own intelligence and skills to figure what was really happening instead of just being side characters. I also enjoyed seeing Abby and Kat together. My favorite moment between them was when Kat figured out why they needed the hostages and Abby just accepted it without question.
I LOVE IT! Personally, I love the way my two favorite series of books are combined into one jam packed action novella!
In Double Crossed I loved how characters from 2 totally different stories could meet and how they would work/relate with each other. I’ve always loved crossovers and I loved that my favourite books have done the same thing. Hale meeting Macey and he saying he’s “taken” makes me squeal like the little fangirl I am. I also loved how they pulled off everything at the end. The Presidents were hilarious too.
I loved how charactors in both series met and the way they reacted with each other. i also really liked seeing Kat and Hale being couplely and how the “ametures” managed to work with the spies to save the day.
I was totally in love with the whole thing. But if I had to pick a favorite part (besides the fact that it was FREE) it would be the mash up of awesome characters and humor. Seriously, I read it while eating dinner and singing happy birthday. 🙂 I hope that there is another one!!!!
I hope ally writes another one to:)
I liked how it brought two completely different worlds together into one story. It highlighted the similarities and differences between the two sets of characters, and that’s something you don’t usually get to see! It was really neat to see that all the characters could work together.
I like how Macey kept saying that kat needed to meet Cammie. I kind of hope that hinted to another crossover coming soon. 🙂
What did I like best about Double Crossed? Oh, dear…that’s a hard one to put into words! But I’ll try my best.
I’ll just start off by saying that I have read both series, but I found it really awesome of Ally that she wrote it so that if, per say, someone hadn’t read one of the series, they could still enjoy the book. However, she had just enough of little hints from each series to have readers like me still satisfied as well.
That’s part of it, but what I really loved about it was the fact that it was a crossover. I happen to LOVE crossovers, and the minute I heard that Ally was doing it I literally freaked out! And she did an amazing job at it.
And I loved Macey’s little comment in the beginning: “I’m sorry if I’m not disappointed. I kind of don’t care.”
It brought out the feminist in me 🙂
My favorite part of Double Crossed is how Ally brings two vastly different and even opposing worlds together. Kat and Hale are thieves while Macey and Abby are spies. Ally brings these four characters together and despite their differences, they work together to bring safety to those held hostage, as well as uncover and foil a potentially dangerous plot. The way the lives of thieves and of spies are intertwined and compliment each other in this novella is unique and engaging. Ally shows that despite our differences, however great they may be, people can still come together and work with one another when the need arises.
And lastly: Hale. What can I say? 😉
I loved that we got to see a whole new side of everyone. We saw how Hale, Macey, Kat and Abby look to people who aren’t attached to them. It was a newer, fresher description. We got to see what they look like to people who don’t really know them, who don’t know who they really are. It was kinda like when someone tells you your brother is cute. 🙂
I really, really liked seeing it from Hale, Macey, and Kat’s POV all at once! It was really neat to see how much Hale really loves Kat and kinda reminded me of the stories Ally released before the release of GG5.
Really glad you’re doing this, even if I don’t win. It’s fun seeing all these posts!
Thanks again!
What i loved about Double Crossed is that is showed how close Hale and Kat are and we got to see things from his position and Macey’s, i love how the worlds come together without clashing or seeming weird. Its really cool that Ally can do that!!
I loved that she combined the two series in such a way that will captivate the readers.
Double Crossed was amazing. I mean, thieves are awesome, and spies are even more awesome, but spies and thieves TOGETHER? A dream come true. ALso, I loved the banter between Macey and Hale. If Kat didn’t exist, they would definitley be cute together. The story was amazing too. Usually we don’t think about how some people may not want the spotlight. Well, that’s all. Thanks Shellie for the chance and Ally, please write more novellas.
I loved how we saw Macey and Hale in an atmosphere than we don’t normally read about. Macey as the daughter of the Senator and Hale, son of the extremely wealthy family. We always read about Macey the spy and Hale the thief this time it was Macey and Hale, children of the rich and wealthy!
Also you know I loved everything else about it too!
I really liked how bother the spies and the thiefs ( sorry idont have another word for a oerson like hale 🙂 )worked together to help save people. I also liked how Ally Carter joined bothe the books together and made th characters meet characters from a different series.
I LOVED that Macey got to take the lead this time. With Cammie and Bex around, she never really gets the chance to mastermind a plan, but she’s just as smart and cunning as any of her roommates, so it was really awesome to see her contribute more than just being the boy/hair/outfit expert.
What I really like about the Double Cross Novella was how both stories were combined. I like how they work together because it shows differnt people and different way can be useful and helpful. I love how Macey is like a spy and then she like an innocent when with her parents. I love how the action came to place. Also, i love the suspense when all of a sudden mask figures come and it’s up to Macey and Hale to save the day.
Best of all, I love seeing how Hale acts when Kat is not around. On that same note, I like to see how people other than the Heist Society characters view Hale and Kat. However, I also enjoy simply being able to read about some of my favorite characters.
Obviously, I LOVED the fact that it included characters from both of Ally’s current series!
My favorite part about the novella was that it was full of possibilities. There was so much suspense in the story and I was constantly wondering how much Hale and Macey would reveal about themselves (to eachother, and the thieves), or what would happen next, and would everyone get out unscratched? Also, the story hinted at Kat possibly becoming a Gallagher girl which was HUGE and an exciting idea. It was just really cool to see the two worlds clash and argue and work together to save the day.
What I love most in Double Crossed is that Abby is a major character. Because the world always needs more Abby. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE how Kat is left outside, since its a situation that normally she’s just not put in. Oh! And the comment about “these situations really call for a dress with straps”.
I loved how both series contributed their best attributes. You had the action, adventure, sparks of romance, and intrigue wrapped up in a pretty novella for free. I loved how both sets of characters got to meet and work together satisfying all my fangirl desires, well I wanted it to be longer, but it was good.
Thank you Ally!
I really like the fact that both charehters get a peek at the other side of the law. I also like how no one was doing a job or scoping stuff out, they were both just there to please their family’s . I hope they meet again sometime!
The whole story is AMAZING! but if I had to choose it would have to be when Abby gave Kat A Gallagher Girls card. Just the sheer possibility that Kat could go to Gallagher would be an awesome story twist. I also liked when Kat gave the necklace back to Abby instead of keeping it. I was somewhat proud of Kat for returning the original. Overall the novella was great!
I love how double crossed shows that both stories are happening around the same time, And abby giving kat a gallagher girls card.
okay, so there’s, like, 199 coments, so I really needed to make one more..yeah I’m probably ocd…
For one you are one of the most amazing authors. and once i found out two of my favorite series were being combined I was so excited. I loved how Macey who started off the GG series thinking she could get any guy couldn’t get Zac or Hale. Who are the 2 hottest guys in the world may i add.
I loved the perspectives and how everything flowed perfectly. I must say that i immensely enjoyed the romance also. You are a phenomenal writer Ally and I admire you:)
I love the combination of characters from different worlds and how perfect it all came together
i loved seeing the books mixed together. she did realy well on that. also i loved seeing Macy who is a spy and hale who is a thief work together.
I absolutely ADORE both the Gallagher Girls series and the Heist Society series, so I absolutely loved the double crossed novella.I LOVED that Hale turned Macey down because he was with Kat and that Macey could tell how musch Kat meant to him just by watching his face as he talked to her (sigh). I loved that Macey was thinking that she had to introduce Kat to Cammie :). I also loved the part Abby tells Kat thatthe Gallagher Academy would accept her in a heartbeat :D. Oh man, i’d love if Ally did a new series with both Kat and Cammie! That would just be class!!! ALLY CARTER YOU’RE A GENIUS! She could have botched up the job of combining the two series but she wrote it brilliantly and just made me fall in love with the characters even more (if that’s possible). I love that she doesn’t lean more towards one set of characters, she gets the balance just right and shows just the right amount of each world. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT 😉 !!!
A Massive Fan,
Megan
