Magnificent Monday Mission

February 18, 2013 by Ally Carter 75 Comments

Hi Girls!

Hope everyone is having a Magnificent Monday and enjoying President’s Day if you have it off!!!!

I have a fun mission for everyone today! Kat is on a heist and I need you all to use your spy skills to find out at what museum the heist is taking place and what painting is involved.

Here is a picture of the painting:

LAS_ME~1

Good Luck on your mission to figure out this heist!

xoxo,

Shellie

P.S. I will give you one hint….Kat is using her Spanish speaking skills while on this heist!

The painting is called: “Las Meninas” (1656) by Diego Velázquez. The painting is curentally at the Prado Museum in Madrid, in room 12 which is dedicated to the fantastic painter. 🙂

Well I was going to spend some time combing Google but it seems everyone else got here before me! Oh, well, good job ladies!! By the way, I just reviewed Double Crossed and it would mean a lot to me if my fellow Gallagher Girls visited me, commented and followed my blog! http://boardingwithbooks.blogspot.co.il/ Thanks:)

Love! The painting resides in Museo del Prado in Madrid. My best friend brought me a print of this back from Spain a few years ago.

We just learned about this painting in Spanish class! Apparently you’re supposed to look at it reflected through a mirror because the painter is actually left handed.

So, I was watching the news and I saw this story (My family and I read the Heist Society books together!) my mother, without missing a beat goes “It was Kat and Hale! Of course.” Definitely had to share because well… this is low-key a really REALLY cool heist and Kat and Hale totally could have pulled it off!

What did YOU do in 3 mins today?

Museo del Prado, Madrid, Spain. I had the chance to see this painting when we visited Spain several years ago. I would love to help Kat borrow this one. 🙂
