Hi everybody,

I hope you’re all having a great weekend.

I have kind of a strange question for you today.  Basically, I’m hoping that you can help me out with something.

It’s time to think about revamping this site, my overall marketing plans/concepts, and just things in general.  Basically, what are we doing that you like, don’t like.  What SHOULD we be doing–stuff like that.

So please take to the comments section and let us know.

Two quick requests:

1. PLEASE DON’T SAY “MAKE A MOVIE”!  That is out of my hands.  WAY out.  And every time someone says otherwise a tiny part of my soul crumbles and dies.

2.  PLEASE DON’T SAY “WRITE FASTER!”.  Again, I’m writing as quickly as I can.  And, yeah, that hurts me in my soul too.

 

But everything else is fair game.

  1. do short intro trailers with cartoon characters to introduce you to each book but you can blank the characters faces out because you want people to have their own idea of what they should look like just an idea 🙂

  5. I like a lot of things about this site, mostly that it keeps me up to date about the happenings of the GG and Heist books. I really enjoy sneak peeks, quizzes, and I also really enjoy when you recommend the books of your friends to us.

  6. More pictures! I like pictures – of you Ally, or your books, or the crazy things you are doing, or something colorful and relevant to jazz up this site.

    It would be cool if someone could draw scenes from your books and display them throughout your website but I understand that may not be feasible.

    I do like personal photos too but I understand some things you want and need to keep private. I’m just glad you share as many photos as you do!

  7. I personally think there should be more games and activities/”fun”things to do.Of course,before anyone gets upset w/me for saying that,there’s some now but not a lot and I’ve pretty much been through all of it at least twice! Other than that……..I really don’t know.;’

  9. I think it would be cool if you just did an ideal cast in your head. Like if there was a movie, who you would pick to play the part. Just like a dream cast.

  10. I think it would also be cool if fans could submit photos of us with you and you posted them on the site. Or something. It would be cool to see if people dress up or the different types of people that go. (For fun)

  11. Ally please I love the gallagher girls series don’t stop writing I don’t care if its different girls like new people or Cammie and the rest”s siblings or even more of cammie’s adventures plz don’t let the gallagher academy stop being written about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Aya, I couldn’t agree more…….. or less. I want the GG series to keep going on too, but I would rather there be no more books  in the series then have ten more books that are nowhere near as good as the first 6! But I know exactly what you mean about not wanting it to end!!! 

  12. I absolutely love your books, I’ve read and own every Gallagher girls book! A tip for the website is that you should try a contest and as the prize give away an ARC of the most upcoming book!

    • I like this idea, not only because they mention contests, but also because you made a good point about prizes. They don’t HAVE to be money, I know i wouldn’t mind some other prize (as long as it’s GG/HS related).
      Although money is good(e) too!

      $$$=books, even i can do that math!

  13. Maybe you could make a commercial for the book liike some authors do and put it on t.v. Or oyu could create posters that could go into librarys and other places. And for your website maybe oyu could do interactive games or like a book club thing where you give us a book to read and then every couple of weeks we could have like a chat room thing and talk about what we thought about the book. Or yoyu could do a reading list for books that are similiar to hs and gg or that are just good reads. Well those are some suggestions keep writing! 🙂

  18. More deleted scenes! And I really liked the scenes you did for GG5 from other characters’ POV. Also, you (and your publisher) don’t do a lot of contests. I think that would help promotionally. Also, blog tours are very good at getting the word about books out.

  19. I like the idea of discussion forums, to keep in touch with other fans of the series, and the deleted scenes idea is also very amazing.

    And maybe some short stories about the characters from before or in between each book.

  20. I really love quizzes!!! I love the “which Gallagher Girl are you?” one and I’d looove to see more like that!! How about a “how well do you know the Gallagher Girls/Heist books?” quiz? It would be like one of Mr Solomon’s memory tests in CoveOps!!! Ooh I like contests too!! I liked the Valentines Day one where the Valentines we sent in got posted for everyone to see, that one was AWESOME! Ooh a GG/HS fan art contest! The best get pics posted for everyone to admire!!! That would be so fun!!! Wow I just realized I’m rambling in my excitement haha XD sorry!! Good luck with the writing Ally!!

    i have read the Gallagher girl series and i LOVE them! ok, Zach and Cammie NEED to be together forever! so, i think a scene in the book should involve a ring (hint hint!!)!!!! please please please!!!!!!

  24. Hi Ally, love the GG books!
    1. I think it would be totally awesome to have GG or HS games on the site. Any kind of game would be acceptable!

    2. Also do more of the scenes like you did before GG5, from the POV of the other characters. Personally I wanted to see more of Zach, ooh ohh do stuff from Zach’s POV from before he met Cammie and the GGs!

    3. And maybe you should do what Rick Riordan did… he has artist renderings of some of his main characters on his website. (I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants to see Zach.

    Ok that’s all I can think of now. Again love GGs with a passion and keep writing please!

  25. I LOVE your books,I wish it was in your power to make movies though, that would be awesome but because you said you can’t yet I think:
    Since nobody seems thrilled that the GG books are ending you could write the books again but in a different characters percpective.
    In the GG website there was some entry’s on the other characters while cammie was gone,I know your prob busy writing the GG6 those were interesting and you could write some more of those
    And the other things other ppl have been saying, like you should post the things you didn’t think were necessary
    (deleted scenes) and some quizzes and games would be cool

  27. Hey Ally! I have a few suggestions. I’ll try to keep it short, because you have like 280 of these to read!!!
    1. More contests Ex. T- shirt contests!

    2. Some recommendations from you on good books and possibly other stuff. (TV shows, movies, nail polish etc.)

    3. One of those whole in the wall things would be cool! (Like where you could put a picture of your face on Cammie’s body or like with Zach or Hale or something!!!)

    4 Merchandise! I understand if you don’t really want to. (But I would love to be Cammie or Cat for Halloween!)

  30. You should do a thing where we write in questions then you have the characters answer them. Basically what they would say to the questions we write in. P.S. I love the books You do a great job.

  33. As many other people have said, the ability to ask questions more often would be fantastic! I started rereading all the Gallagher Girl books again three days ago, and currently I’m at Only the Good Spy Young.

    I have two questions though. 1) How do you pronounce Ioseph?

    2) What does Tina Walters look like? [I wonder about this because my best friend and I both have completely different mental images of her.]

    • I Think its either like Joseph or Yoeseph and I always imagined her with slightly curly brown hair just past her shoulders and average height and a bit prettier than average but she’s no Macey McHenry!!!

  37. I really liked the deleted scenes, excerpts, contests, and quizzes/polls that you have done in the past. I would love to have more of that. Also, it would be awesome to have trivia on the books and characters that we might not know from the books, but that you know from creating them. It could be like “Trivia Tuesdays” or “Trivia Thursdays” or something like that. I really liked what Molly had done…maybe have someone do stuff like that again? Thanks for listening to us fans. I really appreciate it!

  38. As many people have said, give us clips. Deleted scenes, quotes, sneak peeks, whatever – we are dying to see what is next and any bread crumbs you can throw us will be appreciated!!! The best would be the opportunity to win/receive ARCs though!!

    I personally am in love with the heist series so anything on the Perfect Scoundrels would be adored!! (I want to know more about Hale)

    2. Add more fun, interactive stuff (pretty please). Things like contest, and quizzes, etc.

  47. okay so this isn’t for the website but gallagher academy should be open to all nationalities or at least irish because gillian was irish? for the website a few games wouldn’t hurt. oh you could have a walll for posting comments desings and opinions!

  48. I think that you should like make a puzzle about things from the next book to come every day only one clue or space to fill out. The fun would be in trying to guess what is going to be in the book or do it backwards so you have the answer and the person has to guess the question it would be a fun thing to think about

You know those moments when the main character splits off from the group or something happens and the main character briefly mentions it and you (meaning the audience) is left wondering what happened? What if you wrote little short stories about what goes on when the main character is off doing whatever. Kind of like mini series right before GG5 came out.

    Anyone else dying to know, what goes on when the main character is away?

    I know it’s a long shot but hey! You did open the floor for ideas.
