Thanks SO MUCH to all of the people who came out (so to speak) for the Live Chat to discuss DON’T JUDGE A GIRL BY HER COVER. I think the official tally was 322 people which was by far the largest chat like this that I’ve ever had!
Which is a great thing!
And a terrible thing.
You see, there are no college classes or prep seminars or anything to ever prepare you really for a career in this business and today I learned a very important lesson: I need to either invest in a good chat software program or stop doing chats.
You see, toward the end of the chat some people decided that it would be fun to change their usernames to Ally Carter and start answering questions on my behalf. And when answering questions stopped being fun they started yelling obscenities.
In case you were there and were confused, please note that I did not cuss anyone out at the chat today. Sigh. I can’t believe I just had to type that sentence.
I’m very grateful to everyone who came and asked great, respectful questions and I promise that I will not host any more chats until we find a software that can adequately handle the load. Also (and I hate that this is even necessary–I’d honestly thought more highly of my fans than this) a program that will ensure that it cannot be abused by guests.
Thanks again, everyone, and enjoy what’s left of your weekend!
-Ally
ps…again, because of the limitations of the software I’m afraid there are no transcripts of today’s event. I’m very sorry to everyone who had to miss it. It was fun while the fun lasted.
