Attention Texas Teens!

March 24, 2009 by Ally Carter Leave a Comment

Hi everyone!

Remember how a few weeks ago I mentioned that I was going to be attending the Texas Library Association annual convention in Houston next week?

Well, tonight I was going over the TLA website checking everything out (because a Gallagher Girl always does her prep work, you know) and I found out that all of you Texas Teens can come to TLA too!

According to the TLA website, the Texas Library Association has declared next Thursday, April 2nd to be Texas Teens for Libraries (TT4L) Day at TLA.

According to this link,

TT4L is designed to encourage the active participation of teens in TLA’s annual conference by offering them the opportunity to attend sessions, visit the Exhibit Hall, talk informally with YA authors, and interact with other Texas young adults who share their interest in reading, technology, and libraries.

Whoo hoo!

Now you guys can register and attend one of the best literary conferences in the country! You can meet tons of amazing teen authors, and get books signed, and attend incredibly cool sessions (like the one I’ll be giving with Scott Westerfeld, Roland Smith, and Gary D. Schmidt).

Just thinking about it makes me giddy, and I go to this kind of stuff all the time. Why? Because all of these people are going to be there. Awesome, huh?

and

Meg-Freaking-Cabot!!!!!!!

Yeah, that’s right–MEG CABOT IS GOING TO BE THERE and now you can be too.

(If you’re there, by the way, and you’re wondering which one I am…I’ll be the one stalking Meg Cabot.)

But it’s not enough just to comment on this blog and say you want to go and ask me to get you there.

It’s not even enough to show up in Houston expecting to stroll right in.

Nope.

You have some work to do first:

STEP ONE: Go here to read all of the information. Seriously. There are rules and protocols to follow and this link is where they are laid out, so that is step one.

STEP TWO: check with your parents and guardians and local school officials–especially your librarians–to see if this program is a fit for you.

STEP THREE: re-read the information provided at this link and then follow every single step that it tells you to follow.

STEP FOUR: be prepared to bail me out of jail in case I get arrested for stalking Meg Cabot.

Do we have a deal?

pps..I don’t know this for a fact, but I highly suspect that we will have ARCs of GG3 there. Maybe.
