I know most of these are a long time away, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up about some events I’ll be attending in the next few months:
The Texas Library Association Annual Conference in Houston, TX
I’ll be on a panel with some other authors of Texas Lone Star reading list books (whoo hoo! I looooove the Lone Star list!). I’ll also be signing books at the Hyperion booth and audio books (probably CDs) at the Brilliance Audio booth at some point during the conference.
So if you (or a librarian you know and love) is going to TLA please check the official schedule for details and come say hi!
The International Reading Association’s Annual Convention in Minneapolis, MN
I will be speaking on a panel and probably signing books as well. I’ve never been to IRA (and this event just got added to my schedule last week, so details are still rolling in), but I’ve heard it’s a wonderful event, and I can’t wait to take part.
The Romance Writers of America’s Annual Convention in Washington, D.C.
I am very excited to be taking part in RWA’s annual literacy autographing event where hundreds of authors–or maybe thousands (I’m not sure. All I know is that last year it was a HUGE room)–are together to sign and sell books, the proceeds of which all go to local literacy programs.
Unlike the rest of RWA, this event is open to the general public, so if you live in the D.C. area it is a PHENOMENAL way to spend an evening. Tons of mega stars come. Like Nora Roberts and Janet Evanovich. It’s sort of amazing.
For those of you who are interested in attending the full-blown conference, I just learned that my agent, Kristin Nelson, and I will be presenting a session on the differences between writing and publishing for teen and adult audiences. I don’t mean to brag or anything, but I think our session is going to be really, really good.
But, honestly, I plan to spend most of my time at RWA stalking Janet Evanovich. Because, when I grow up, I really, really want to be Janet Evanovich.

ps…I’m 99% certain that there will be more events (possibly A LOT more) added in the coming months. I promise to 1. blog about them 2. add them to www.eventful.com/allycarter and 3. send word out in a newsletteras soon as they’re finalized.
pps…remember, if you want to request that I visit your area, the way to do that is to log a request at eventful.com. The requests left in the comments section here, unfortunately, will not be chronicled.
