Mini blog: a recycling rant

February 4, 2009 by Ally Carter Leave a Comment

So remember how a few weeks ago I blogged about how, for some reason, I kept having bad recycling luck?

Well, today is recycling day, so I was super careful last night to remember to set it out. I got up this morning and double-checked that all my neighbors had set their recycling out, so I had the correct day.

And then I went and ran some errands, and when I came back I found that all of the recycling on the street had been collected…

ALL OF THE RECYCLING EXCEPT MINE!

So I called the city and complained and the nice lady said “Well, was it at the curb?” And I said, “YES!” And she said that she was going to have them come back.

But I’m skeptical.

Will keep you up-to-date on Recyle-drama 2009!

UPDATE!!!!!!

It’s now 8:00 and I just went to the curb to take my trash out (since tomorrow is trash day) and I found that, yes, the big green recycling tub full of plastic bottles is still there. The big trash can full of paper is still there.

But the sack full of aluminum cans is gone!

So the recycling people either made a special trip back and JUST took the aluminum… Or someone was driving by and thought “free cans”… Or something.

Needless to say, I’m angry.

Very, very angry.
