A lot of people have been asking whether or not Double-Crossed will be available in paperback or hardback and, if not, why?
Well, a few reasons really.
For starters, this all came about REALLY quickly. I first pitched the idea to my publisher a few months ago. To have a physical book in stores we would have needed at least a year. And I really wanted it to come out BEFORE Heist Society 3, Perfect Scoundrels.
The second reason is that it’s just a novella–not a novel. Don’t forget, it is only about 70 pages or so (not sure how long it will be once it is typeset). When was the last time you saw a 70 page book on shelves? Probably never. At least in the YA fiction sections.
Bookstores don’t really stock novellas or short stories. At best, they will sometimes stock short story collections, but, again, I wanted it out sooner than that. Otherwise, I would have either had to write two or three more novellas to put with it, or work with other authors on an anthology…or something else that would take a lot of time.
Another factor is that I didn’t know how long it was going to be when I started. I knew I wanted it to tell the story of a whole operation (or heist, depending on how you look at it), but I didn’t think it would be much longer than 40 pages or so. There is REALLY no use trying to bind up physical copies of a 40 page story. And eStories are really becoming incredibly common.
And, finally, I wanted A LOT of people to read it. And it wanted it to be free. I wanted it to be a gift from me (and my publisher) to you, and for it to be something that is easy for new readers to pick up and try out.
If you really have your heart set on a physical copy, I’m sorry. Maybe someday I will have some other stories to add to it and we can make a collection or anthology, but in the meantime eCopies are what we’ve got. And we’re giving them away, so I’m very hopeful that all of you will be able to find a way to enjoy them.

It says its on BN.com, which basically means you can put it on your Nook. I know cuz I get books from BN.com all the time for my Nook.

Yeah, I don’t see how people are always talking about Zach being better than Hale (who is my choice). Really. He isn’t mysterious and I quote: “Believe it or not, Gallagher Girl, I’m all out of secrets.” Page 62 in Out of Sight, Out of Time.
I think that is amazing this notice, I don´t think that a paper book is necessary, actually, I always read in my eReader.
The really problem here is: You haven´t published any of your books in Latin America yet. And I am completely sure that if you publish your books in spanish, a lot of persons like me would bought it.
Just think about it, please.

Okay, so seeing as this is an eBook, does that mean you have to own a kindle or something similar to read it? Or will it be available for android phones at the Google Play store/ available to read online on laptop? I’m really excited for it,because Macey and Hale are my two ultimate favourite characters, but I dont have a kindle and am worried I wont be able to read it
If you don’t have a kindle then you can just get the app. its free and you can get it for android. its like a mini kindle. then go to amazon.com and buy it when it comes out. go back to your kindle app on your phone and download it. then you will be able to read it.

Yes, just go to Amazon.com and download the kindle. once its set up on your computer you can read any e-books you buy on Amazon.
Ooooooh you can do better than that. You can go to the gallagher academy website just get a account and you will be set to read it. It is quite easy.

Anyway you’re in good company. I tried to make cupcakes and they were one and a half inches tall (MISTAKE) and the icing was crunchy (again-MISTAKE). Apparently I put 2/3 cup of sugar in it instead of 1 tablespoon. I gave one to some one and they seriously gagged.

Ally, please let me know if there will be a 6th gallager book! There so good! Zach & Cammie are the perfect couple!
