I hope you’re all having a great weekend!
Random Fact #1: We are having another unseasonably warm day here. I need to work. I want to go get my toes done. Of course, I don’t really need cute toes to sit at my desk in tube socks, hammering away at Heist Society 3. But with all these spring breezes my toes want to come out and play just the same.
Random Fact #2: I wish I were having an Oscar Party. But I’m not.
Random Fact #3: I’m starting to get a little freaked out about the GG5 release. And tour. And everything that comes with putting a new book out into the world.
But isn’t this like your 900th tour/book release, you may ask. (Technically, it’s my 9th book release and my 6th tour. Wow. Can that be right?) But this is the kind of thing I’m just hard-wired to worry about. Will I have everything I need? Will I remember where I’m supposed to go and what I’m supposed to do?
Basically, there is VERY LITTLE an author can control about how a new book performs. (Because the author’s part in the book creation process is over looooong before the book sees the light of day.) So this author tends to obsess over the things she can control: like how many pairs of Spanx to pack for tour.
(How about three pairs of Spanx? Will three pairs of Spanx be enough?)
Random Fact #4: George Clooney still hasn’t asked me to be his date for the Oscars. I find this more than a little annoying.
Random Fact #5: My editor, Editor Cat, is having a baby…like she could be in labor right now for all I know. Jennifer Lynn Barnes and I have decided that, regardless of the sex of said baby, we shall, from this point forward, call it The Kitten.
Random Fact #6: One of the things I’m most excited about for tour is doing at least some of the events (and the travel and all) with Rachel Hawkins. I don’t know Rachel well, but she seems to totally be my kind of person. Perhaps she will call Cat’s baby The Kitten too.

Maybe it’s unusually warm for you guys but this morning I woke Up to snow! It’s was horrible! Snow, you had your chance in December, January, and early this month! I don’t want you any more! NO ONE DOES! Okay, I guess I’m being a little harsh. Some people do like snow.
im with you. I’d prefer to have snow in Decemer. but this week the area of England I live in is supposed to be 17 degrees celsius! yay warm weather for me!

i live in the north east. its not much fun. i’ve only been to London once when i was like 8 (im now 13) and that was pretty cool! but seriously, if you come to england, dont come to the north east. you wont be impressed. its not as nice as london.
Lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Living in China has its downsides. Like still being cold. And snowless. *Smirk* Sorry Zach, I really felt like it.
You’re all lucky ;( I’ve never seen snow in my life! For me its a harsh scorching sun all year round (except the winter, there are a couple of nice breezes and a little bit of rain -.-)
I’m really excited about the warm weather too…i mean how many times can you go outside barefoot in February! I still probably sound crazy for doing that when it’s only 40 degrees outside…who knows maybe i am ….lol
Being crazy makes life more fun!:D
I live in northern Kansas and we are having CRAZY weather. Seriously. Usually by now we’ve used 5 snow days, seen blizzards too many to count, etc. But this winter we have had COUNTLESS 50-60 degree weeks. WEEKS! I’m loving it, though!! I’ve seen snow once! ONCE! and it was like half and inch. I love it. I feel like I live in Florida. And i love, LOVE, Florida.
I live in California and we had a heat wave out here too!! I go to school in Berkeley and everyone had on shorts! It’s been so cold out here lately, sometimes I wished it snowed though but then I remember snow isn’t always fluffy it gets dirty and Icy and doesn’t look like fairy tale snow.

Me too!!! Only 2 days now! And Rachel Hawkins last book in her series is coming out on the same day!!! This is just so exciting, I’m gonna have to get them both! I’m on Spring Break, so I have plenty of time for both. This is so awesome!
I can’t wait for GG5!! I really wish I could see you on tour, but I can’t drive yet and my mom won’t take me.:( Even though I’m only about 2 hours away from one of your stops! Oh well still can’t wait… I’ll just have to catch you next time your on tour ( maybe I can drive by then ). Thanks for everything Ally!

The Kitten… ohmygallagher I think I just died of laughter! Although you’re not coming near my state, I’m excited to hear all the new things coming around with the tour. And GG5? Why oh why must chapter 2 end with a cliffhanger. March 13th is not coming quick enough!
Do you know if GG5 will be available on the Kindle or Nook? I want to read it as soon as possible!
I can’t wait for GG5 to come out! everyday at school i tell my friends how many days till the book comes out even though they dont really care to read. Im still excited! The weather down here in texas is soo unpredicatable. Like today its cold but yesterday was hot. I cant wait for summer!!!

I live in Iowa, so it’s COLD!!! I can’t wait until March 13th, which is 4 days before my birthday so I EXPECT my parents or someone to get me that book!!!!

Hey Ally! I would just like to thank you for being such a committed blogger, especially seeing as you spend a lot of your time writing, thinking and doing other book related things. I read the blogs of several different authors and the time between their blogs ranges from days to months. And a follow up blog on any certain subject can take years. So this is my thank you comment. I look forward to reading your blog further. (After I finish reading your books of course.)
P.S. I am SO jealous of your American weather. Canada means a lot of rain, clouds and yea. Mountains. (Big whoop.)
i know what you mean about the snow i wake up there is snow when there is this think 10 minute blizzard then it completely dries up in under 30 minutes it just cant make up if mind!

Ally, based on the amazing books you’ve written before and the awesome excerpts of Out of Sight, Out of Time you’ve released, I am confident that I will love Out of Sight, Out of Time! Also, I can’t wait to read Heist Society 3! The Heist Society books easily make my list of all time favorite books.
OK I know I already commented before but I just noticed something a LOT of the characters in the gg series don’t go by there actual name like cammie actual name Cameron, then bex actual name Rebecca, then Liz actual name Elizabeth, then Zach actual name zachary, then you have aunt Abby actual name Abigail, then Joe actually name Joseph (I think) then in hiest society there’s kat and hale and I’m pretty sure uncle eddies real name was Edward ……. so yea I just noticed that did anyone else? Sorry I knw this is random I just wanted to see if anyone else caught that

Well while you guys are having a wonderful winter I am sitting in Australia sweltering through the extremely hot summer. I can’t wait for next month for the new release. All will be amazing Ally! Today in Maine its still pretty cold. Getting warmer but my feet are freezing and after this I am going to get some socks and shoes on. I’m so glad to hear that you’re writing more of Heist Society Three. I’ll take all the books from you I can get. My reading has been going down lately because I dont have many books to read, but also I can’t wait to read yours. The countdown on my chalkboard changes everyday and every time I change it I cheer.
It’s all cloudy today but I’m off school so it’s all good
Sometimes I’ll be out grocery shopping with my mom, and she’ll ask me if I want a pedicure. And I’m sure you all know what my answer is:) It doesn’t help that the nail salon is down the street from the store.

Just a note to tell Ally that I was in Bali’s airport (in Indonesia) this past weekend, and I happened to see her “Uncommon Criminals” book (in English) for sale in the airport bookstore! The reach of your books is truly global!

Ally Carter and Meg Cabot are my all time favourite authors (or Authresses or whatever)! Sorry the Cloonster didn’t have the gut to ask you to the Oscars. Probably was a little timid to ask such a good writer (see how i avoided saying author or authress). Would love to have you here in Australia! Me and my friends have a countdown to the 13th! We have had the lady-librarian preorder it and have a timetable for who gets to read it first. I am expecting for someone to get it for me since my birthday’s on the 27th! Sorry, snobbish sounding
