Hi guys,
It’s that time again–time for another round of ASK ALLY! The gameshow sensation that’s sweeping the nation.
Okay. So it’s not a gameshow. And it’s not a sensation. But it is a lot of fun.
What happens: you guys can post questions in the comments section of THIS blog. Then in a week or so I will turn off comments and go through and answer as many questions as I can.
But there’s a catch!
1. I will not answer questions that are already answered here on the blog, in the FAQ, and in other extremely obvious places. (example: how many Gallagher Girl books will there be? How did I get the idea for the Gallagher Academy? Will there be a movie? Etc.)
Those questions have been asked. They’ve been answered. Let’s cover NEW territory here, okay. So before you ask a question please make sure your question hasn’t already been answered (chances are it has)
2. I will not answer questions that are spoilers for future books. (Will we find out what happened to Cammie’s dad? Why is the Circle after Cammie? What is Hale’s first name? Etc.)
3. Duplicate questions will be deleted and will not be answered.
Past experience has taught me that these types of posts will get hundreds of comments–and that’s EXTREMELY cool! But going through that many comments takes a lot of time that I should be using writing more books.
People always post the same questions over and over, usually citing that “they’re too busy to read all the comments to make sure this isn’t a duplicate.” Well, that implies that your time is far more valuable than my time. And that’s not cool.
In other words, if you don’t have time to read and not ask duplicates, please don’t ask questions at all. I have a massive deadline and other things on my plate and I would love for this to be as efficient as possible.
4. And finally please post no more than three questions each, and please make your question as concise as possible.
Example: “Dear Ally, how did you decide to have Kat go after a cursed gem in Heist 3 instead of another piece of Holocaust art?”
As a rule, questions shouldn’t be more than 30-40 words long.

I would disagree. Yes, I think she would sell more books, and that Gallagher girls would be famous. But think, what if the movie came out before the next book. And what you picture Cammie to look like could be something completely different from what someone else thinks.So now when you read the books everyone has a face, an identity. Reading the books again would be different. Plus when a movie comes out that is based on a book they tend to leave a lot of important information out. What if the movie is bad , then we will all regret asking for it. I wanted the movie at one point too, but now all i want is GG6 and hopefully more( even though Ally is probably not going to write a GG7).I love these books, there my escape out of everyday life, but seeing Macey as this new face in my mind is not the same.
I have to agree with Piper. I would love to have a GG7 and GG8, but i will let Alley decide. Maybe when she announces this is the last book for the GG seires then can they write the book.

I agree with Piper too. I did really want a movie, and I would still go to see it, as like most people here I am OBSESSED with ALL Ally’s books, but I don’t think I would like the film afterwards as it couldn’t possibly live up!!!!!! It’s always like that

Cammie. For sure. I mean, it says in the first Heist book that Kat had never really hurt someone. Cammie has practically been training her whole life to protect herself and others. Also, being a spy and the Chameleon, she could always * disappear * and sneak up on Kat. I mean Kat IS sneaky, but nowhere near as sneaky as Cammie. I do like Kat too, but Cammie would win. I’m positive.

I think she knew where they were ( no offense meant ), but she wanted to know if they went along with the story.They actually are like their own kind of story. Nothing is really being said about what Cammie is doing or where she is, but it does say that they’ve been worrying, and that Zach went to look for Cammie ( obviously without success. )

Her name is Cathrine. In the last book, Cammie asked Zack what her name was and he said, “Cathrine. Her name is Cathrine.” Might not be the exact words, just trying to remember off of my head.

I’ve been wondering the same thing! I wonder if I just missed it or something in one of the books.
I think 1 of Hale’s names is Wyndham because in the 1st book they stayed at Wyndham manor, and that was one of the Hale family mansions.
I think last time this was asked she chose Solomon.
#2- her name isn’t in the books, and she didn’t answer that last q&a.
As far as fanfics go, many of them gave Cammie’s father the name Christopher when his name was Matthew. Fanfics are not always accurate.

Did you ever think about a follow-up story to the GG series. Like Rick Riordan did with the Lost Hero Series?
There are, you just need to type them in search and you’ll find a bunch for GG4 and other GG books, too.

Ally got upset (and had EVERY right to) the last time people on fanfic sites took it upon themselves to “name” one of her characters. The people of fanfic communities do not get to decide the name of a character.It is not up to them, and they have no right.
Ally Carter said last time, and I qoute:
“Evidently people in fanfiction communities took it upon themselves to name Cam’s dad and name him Christopher. They had no right to do this and they were wrong.”
She also said:
“So, no, Cam’s dad isn’t named Christopher.And no, no one had the right to say otherwise.”
And they don’t have the right to. And nothing written in a fanfic story is true, or will ever be true. It is not the REAL story, it is irrevelant infact.

Cammie is short for Cameron, Cammie’s Mom’s Maiden Name. (Rachel Cameron Morgan, Abigail Cameron (GG3))
so her name was really “Cameron Cameron Morgan” ? because in our country that’s what I can infer from the given info. she would always refer herself as Cammie or Cam but in some instances I could remember, she stated that her name was really Cameron (p.16 of LYKY). So Rachel named her daughter after her maiden name? I was just confused >_<

1) I think she leaves that to the reader’s imagination. I think that’s why she leaves the description kind of vague. Green eyes, wavy brown hair, broad shouldered, tall…I think that’s all she said about him.
He might not have seen Josh, you know, caught up in Cammie’s beautiful face and all. Though he is a spy so he should’ve seen him.
Yeah, otherwise, to make Josh jealous. Or to help Cammie get over Josh, because he knew that it wouldn’t work between Josh and Cammie anyway.
2)I think Abby kisses Mr. Solomon to make Rachel realize her feelings for him. Ally answered this question before, I think.
Ally doesnt describe Zach with green eyes or wavy hair. She only said something about broad shoulders,tall,and brown buzzcut hair. It even says in the books that all the boys had hair no longer than a buzcut

Actually, I’m pretty sure Ally never mentions that Zach has green eyes anywhere in her books (at least in the US version). When she does mention his eyes, she describes them dark (in GG4, I think). The green eyes idea is something that probably originated in a fanfic, not that I don’t love the idea of a green-eyed Zach.

I don’t think Zach is insecure about Josh as much now. I think he was more jealous of the fact that Josh could give Cammie a normal and easy relationship. Where, Zach is always running away and keeping secrets from Cam. Potentially hurting her later. Which he really doesn’t want.

Actually I agree. I think everyone deserves to be happy because people aren’t good or bad – the world isnt black and white. It’s grey. That person who kills people has his reasons – his circumstances of why he turned out like that right? And if killing people is what makes him happy good for him but he should have just stuck with watching sunsets.
Also let’s look at Joe and Rachel: both sad at losing Matthew, both spies (they get each other) both hot (always a contributing factor) They both care about Cammie… What more could we want?
I think everyone starts out deserving to be happy. But it’s their choices in life that determine their happiness in the future.

I was just wondering, it says in one of the books that the Gallagher girls are free to do whatever they want after school but once they learned all that stuff are they just free to go or would they get their memories erased too?
Solomon blames himself because he was meant to go on the mission that Cammie’s father went missing on. He did not, however, physically take a knife or gun and kill Matthew Morgan. We aren’t even completely sure he’s dead. Everyone only THINKS so.

You could try your local library and ask some of the librarians if they would be interested in reading your manuscript and giving you feedback. Chances are they will be overjoyed to see an aspiring writer.

I agree, i think it Rachel and Joe would be a super awkward couple seeing how Joe was Matt’s best friend. even weirder because Abby and Joe flirted the whole 3rd book and she kissed him… I personally think that Abby and Joe should be together more then Rachel and Joe. i’m pretty sure i’m not the only one. Plus searching for Edward Townsend and Abby supporters I found so much Joe and Abby supporters. Put abby and Joe together PLEASE!!
